United
Way Receives Donation from PHS Student Efforts
11/21//07
-- The cast and crew of a recent theater production at Plymouth
High School of the Wizard of Oz were pleased to present a
check for $1,089 to the United Way and designated for the
Marshall County Red Cross. After each performance of the play,
cast members simply asked the audience to place donations
in collection boxes at the back of the auditorium.
This year's United Way Campaign Chair, Brad Serf, accepted
the check on Wednesday morning. Serf said, “This is a great
thing.”
Senior member Nancy Tyree was inspired to promote the fund
raising project after seeing cast members of a performance
in New York City ask for donations in a similar manner. Tyree
is a board member of the Marshall County Red Cross and is
committed to raise funds and awareness for the Red Cross.
